Leeds Armouries
.Year 5/6 visited Leeds Armouries to support our work on WWII. Whilst we were there, each class took part in two workshops; the homeguard drill and ARP warden training. These workshops were interactive and some of the children were able to hold artefacts which replicated those used in WWII. We would definitely recommend these workshops, they were brilliant! Alongside this, we made our way around the museum, focussing on the Tudor gallery, Romans, Greeks and the Celts - all topics the children have either already learnt about and supported this learning or acted as pre-teach to what is to come. An hour wasn't enough to see the amazing artefacts the museum has on offer and we know some children have asked their parents to take them back.
