Trips and Events
Leeds Armouries
Year 5/6 visited Leeds Armouries to support our work on WWII. Whilst we were there, each class took part in two workshops; the homeguard drill and ARP warden training. These workshops were interactive and some of the children were able to hold artefacts which replicated those used in WWII. We would definitely recommend these workshops, they were brilliant! Alongside this, we made our way around the museum, focussing on the Tudor gallery, Romans, Greeks and the Celts - all topics the children have either already learnt about and supported this learning or acted as pre-teach to what is to come. An hour wasn't enough to see the amazing artefacts the museum has on offer and we know some children have asked their parents to take them back.

Bolton Museum
Year 4 has a wonderful time at Bolton Museum! We learnt all about the Ancient Egyptians, studied ancient artefacts and then even took a trip to the aquarium!

Blue Planet Aquarium
Year 3 visited Blue Planet Aquarium to learn more about sea creatures. They loved seeing all the different types of fish, turtles and crabs but I think everyone's favourite were the sharks! We were lucky enough to watch the sharks and fish being fed by the divers. We also learnt about diver's equipment and what different signs under water mean. The children didn't want to leave when it was time to go. A sign of a great day out!
